  • Great Meadow Public Night Cancelled

    Observers – The weather reports indicate wind-chill temperatures for Saturday night in the 10 to 20 degrees BELOW ZERO (that’s -10 to -20 degrees temperature) from winds that may gust as high as 50 mph! I am afraid that in these temperatures frostbite become a real threat, so I am cancelling the public observing night. Try again next month.

  • NOVAC Monthly Meeting February 8, 7 p.m.

    NOVAC’s general meeting will be held on the campus of George Mason University on Sunday, February 8th.  We will meet in Observatory Tower Showcase at 7:00 p.m. If you’ve recently done some public outreach work, or if you’ve had a particularly good observing session lately, please consider taking a few minutes during the meeting to tell other members about it.     NOVAC’s Byron Bergert Imaging Group will hold its Pre-Groundhog Day Image Processing Party on Saturday January 31 from 10am to 2pm at the Patrick Henry Library in Vienna.
