Crockett Public Night and Messier Marathon is Cancelled
Unfortunately tonight’s public night is canceled, the third cancelled Crockett Public Night in a row. The astronomy forecast predicts 70 percent or more cloud cover and the local forecast is cloudy with a 20% chance of showers or drizzle. Not acceptable conditions; nobody wants precipitation on lenses, mirrors or electronics.
Hoping for clear skies next month and many days before and after.

Snow and clouds are in the forecast so the Great Meadow Public Observing Night scheduled for tonight (3-5-2016) is cancelled due to bad weather.

NOVAC Monthly Meeting Sunday, February 14th
NOVAC’s general meeting will be held on the campus of George Mason University on Sunday, February 14th. We will meet as usual in Research Hall Room #163 at 7:00 P.M. The weather forecasts indicate mostly cloudy sky conditions until after 23:00 local. To not disappoint the public or annoy volunteers, tonight’s public night is cancelled. Hope for clear skies in the coming months.

Great Meadows Public Night 1-16-2016 @5pm
There is a Great Meadow public observing session scheduled for this Saturday night. (1-16-2016, 5:00 – 10:00 pm). I will be traveling this weekend so I am unable to attend and I will not be able to send out an email to cancel if the weather is bad so please check the weather forecast before going! I hope you all have a great observing session.
