    Star Gaze 2015 – Oct 3rd – CANCELLED 

    The forecast for this weekend’s Star Gaze event poses serious risks to the safety of our volunteers as well as members of the general public who might wish to attend the event. Consequently, we have decided to cancel Star Gaze for 2015. NOVAC has several other observing-only public nights scheduled during the rest of 2015, and Star Gaze will return next year in October, 2016.     Although the weather looks promising for tomorrow night cloudwise, weather earlier in the day includes sleet, icy rain and snow.  Moreover, freezing temperatures at Crockett will ensue throughout the evening hours.     Posted on behalf of Site Coordinator Terry Cabell Event Sat September 15th 7pm-11pm If you haven’t been to Sky Meadows before, it has the best skies of any of our Northern Virginia sites, especially to the south–so our spring/summer favorites are clearly in view.
