Binocular Messier and the AL Observing Program
March is the time of the year when the Messier Marathon is possible. This is also a great time to get started on your Binocular Messier observing program. A very useful resource (I would say essential) for observational astronomy is Sky and Telescope’s Pocket Sky Atlas. It is available from many sources for less than $20. Crockett Public Night and Messier Marathon is Cancelled
Unfortunately tonight’s public night is canceled, the third cancelled Crockett Public Night in a row. The astronomy forecast predicts 70 percent or more cloud cover and the local forecast is cloudy with a 20% chance of showers or drizzle. Not acceptable conditions; nobody wants precipitation on lenses, mirrors or electronics.
Hoping for clear skies next month and many days before and after.
