NOVAC “Show and Tell” meeting on June 8
NOVAC’s general meeting, to be held in GMU’s Research Hall Room 163 at 7:00 p.m., will feature an equipment “show and tell” instead of our usual guest speaker. If you have equipment that you would like to display and explain please bring your it and knowledge to share. No formal presentations, just informal conversation by the displayed equipment during the evening amongst those attending. Members can set up equipment beginning around 6:30. Weather Update: December Meeting CANCELLED
*** WEATHER UPDATE ***
NOVAC’s Board of Trustees has decided to cancel tonight’s general meeting in the interest of safety; the weather is just too uncertain for us to feel comfortable asking members to come out to GMU this evening. We’ll hold elections for NOVAC officers and trustees in January. The equipment show-and-tell scheduled this evening will be held at another meeting instead. Stay safe (and warm)!

NOVAC invites you to the largest public star party in the Washington DC area. Learn about astronomy while enjoying the night sky with hundreds of telescopes, binoculars and homemade projects. Many experienced astronomers will be on hand to answer questions and share their knowledge. (more…)

Crockett Public Night (March 9) – Messier Marathon – is ON!
OK folks – The weather forecast looks great for tonight, so the public night Messier Marathon is ON. One complication – unfavorable soggy grass field conditions. Craig Johnson (Crockett Park Manager) indicated a potential for cars getting stuck on the field.
